Frédéric Jaisser is MD, specialist in Nephrology and Head of a research team at the Unit 1138 of INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale), the French public research institution dedicated to human health.

He is Professor of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris-Est Créteil where he coordinates a course dedicated to “Animal Models and Pathophysiological Mechanisms“.

Since 2010 he is the Scientific coordinator of the Pathophysiology committee at The National Research Agency. Since 2014 he is Coordinator of Life Science ECOS-Sud (www.univ-paris13.fr/cofecub-ecos/ecos-sud) and the Chair of a European Network dedicated to aldosterone, from basic to clinical applications (COST Action ADMIRE, www.admirecost.eu).

His fields of expertise are mainly renal and cardiovascular pathophysiology, development of transgenic animal models for pathophysiologic studies or human disease models. His current work is focused on the repositioning of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists in novel therapeutic indications such as kidney, eye or skin diseases.
