Mark Oyama is Professor and Chief of Section of Cardiology in the Department of Clinical Studies, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

His main clinical and research interests involve mitral valve disease, novel therapies for heart failure, clinical epidemiology and cardiac biomarkers. He is a past President of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Specialty of Cardiology and Associate Editor for the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology.

Dr. Oyama has published over 100 scientific manuscripts and abstracts and has given over 150 national and international lectures.

He serves on veterinary advisory boards for a variety of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

He resides in Philadelphia with his wife, their son, and two very mischievous cats.
